Chief Engineering & Marketing Officer, Valeo

Born on January 10th, 1958. Married with three children.

 

Michel FORISSIER graduated as a mechanical engineer in 1980 in the Ecole Centrale de Lyon in France.

 

He started his career at RENAULT, where he held several positions in the fields of safety, thermal systems, vehicle tests, and then was Deputy Program Director of the Espace program.

 

In 1996, he moved to VALEO, in charge of the global R&D activities of the Engine Cooling Branch.

 

Since 2005, he has been in charge of Innovation and strategy in the field of Powertrain.

 

From 2010 onwards, he held the position of Marketing, Research and Development Director for Valeo Powertrain Systems Business Group.

 

In addition, he was appointed in September 2012 Director of Hybrid/Electric Vehicles Strategy and Chief Technology Officer of the same Business Group. As from October 1st, 2020, Michel Forissier is appointed as Valeo Group Chief Engineering & Marketing Officer.

 

He is an active member of the SIA (French “Société des Ingénieurs de l’Automobile”), the SAE (American “Society of Automotive Engineers”) and the AFPA (French “Association Française de la Presse Automobile”).
